Fort Settlement Middle School Volleyball
Dear Parents,
Your daughter has been chosen to be a member of the 2014 Falcon Volleyball Team. We would like to extend an invitation for you to attend matches and offer your support during the season. We feel it is important to state several of the Athletic UIL guidelines that we follow in the FBISD.
There will be short parent meeting on Wednesday, September 4th. The coaches would like to meet with you and your daughter for a short meeting at this time. We would like to welcome you personally and share with you our goals and expectations.
Each athlete is expected to attend all scheduled practices and matches. A coach must be notified if an athlete must miss due to an illness or family emergency. If your daughter is at home sick, a phone call or email must be made to her coach as early in the day as possible. If this policy is not followed, suspension from the team may occur.
Athletes will be issued knee pads and a uniform. They will be held financially responsible for any damage or lost items at the end of the season.
Practice is Monday – Thursday from 4:10-5:45 PM. On afternoon practice days, girls who ride home in cars should be picked up no later than 5:50 PM. We will end practice promptly at 5:45 PM. Pick up will be by the teachers’ parking lot on the side of the gym building. If your daughter walks or rides a bike home, we request a note stating this fact.
Game Day Procedures
All athletes are taken to away games on a school bus. Parents must provide transportation home after our return to FSMS. It is important that parents be on call on game nights in case we encounter a delay. The athletes may obtain prior approval to leave straight from the match with a parent, however, the proper form must be completed and on file with a coach before the game.
An athlete must be passing all subjects in school in order to be eligible to play UIL sports in Texas. Students will be excused from practice if they choose to attend school tutorial classes.
We would like to communicate via email as much as possible. When emailing a coach, please include “Volleyball” and your daughter’s name in the subject line.
The coaches would like to welcome your family to Falcon Athletics. It’s going to be an awesome season!
Sincerely,
Ruben Rocha -8th Grade Crimson
